I am back from the dark side! (I was supposed to say this 6 days ago, but I faced some 'technical' difficulties...) Now I am horribly homesick, no, not the I-miss-home kind of homesick, but the I-am-at-home-feeling-sick kind. I went to KL for a week on the 17th of December with my school band (which explains why I am back), it was really fun though tiring and involved lots of bad weather and horrible cleanliness topped with perpetual haze. I wouldn't want to blog about the whole trip bit by bit, so I'll just blog about some interesting stuff.
We had 4 music exchange programs during the first 3 days. One memorable thing was that I met a guy who looked like Vicky's brother at the Confucian Private Secondary School (the school which we were also staying at), haha, he was younger though.
We went shopping after all our official business was done, haha. I went to Times Square on the 19th. They had a Borders outlet there! It was so big and there's even a Starbucks in there! But unfortunately I didn't have much time to walk around and frolic so I just walked past it in favor of getting my dinner! I can't believe I just walked past a huge bookstore without even peeking past the windows... That night we went to the stadium (don't know the name... XD) to watch the World Marching Band Competition 2009. It was boring at first but then it got really awesome, haha. We didn't manage to watch it till the end because it was getting really late. That competition was totally an eye opener, I never expected Malaysia to be that good and is actually in the run for the top 3 spots. Hah...

We went to KLCC on the 20th (?), I think it was the 20th... I went to Kinokuniya there, and it was HUGE! Books as far eye can see... They mostly sold novels and fictions and almost every genre you could imagine, except for textbooks and school reference books. I picked up 4 books there but unfortunately the line at the cashier was extremely long and I didn't have time to wait. Darn! Luckily, I got the chance to go back to Times Square and actually have the chance to enter Borders! My friends and I spent most of our time there, just sitting and reading. I bought 2 books there - The Lovely Bones and The Graveyard Book... If I had more financial support I would have bought a pile of books...
Next we went to Genting Highlands on the 21st and 22nd. It was freaking cold up there, sometimes I could even see my breath (not my own breath actually, I saw other people's breath since I didn't know how to do it, haha). The whole place was covered in fog most of the time and it was really windy outside. We rode the cable car (gondola actually) to go up to Genting Highlands since our bus couldn't go up. We waited for hours at the cable car station, everyone was queued in an 'S' shape, haha. I spent my time (window) shopping at Genting, I didn't have the guts to go on any thrill rides and I didn't have the patience to go on kiddie rides. Let's just say that the hotel there is 'not the best option'.
We went to Mid Valley and Pavilion on the 22nd. I only got the chance to have lunch at Mid Valley, again, didn't have time to look around. Frankly I must say that I totally hate Pavilion. It's absolutely the place for those richest of the rich, I couldn't even get dinner without checking my wallet twice. Almost everything there has a 3-digit price tag...
That's about it for my trip. On the flight back, I still didn't get a window seat. But I was really tired so I didn't bother to change seats...
Merry Very Belated Christmas everyone! And Happy Second-To-Last Day of 2009!

Hey!!! You're back! Happy New Year!!! =D =D
I was so disappointed when I kept visiting your blog and not seeing any new posts (no RSS. Hmm.. maybe I should put it up). Anyway. I'm glad you're back. Now I don't have to post more than one post in a day when I'm seriously bored (like yesterday.. gosh).
Anyway. Are you telling me you have never been to Borders before?? GASP!!!!!!!!!! Anyway. It's cool isn't it? I love it! But then I get so sad because a lot of people who are reading there bend the book like it's just a pile of useless papers stuck together (choke!). Haha. Anyway. Borders always has a coffeehouse inside. Over here it's Gloria Jeans. It's great isn't it? The only thing is it's sometimes a bit noisy. How sad.
I think that Kinokuniya is a bit pricey. But I haven't been there in a long time so I'm not so sure. Oh. And Pavilion. Waste of my time!!!! We went to Perak for a volleyball competition and after that, we went down to KL. We walked from Sungai Wang to Pavilion. Not a short walk. It was so tiring!! And then we didn't do anything at Pavilion (except use the toilet), and just went back because no one dared to go into any shops. Haha.
I can't believe you didn't go on any rides at Genting!!! It's so thrilling! Haha. I understand though, my friend doesn't like rides too.
Oh and Confucian Private Sec School. I think that's where we stayed too. It's just next to Petaling Street. Is it that one? The room they provided us with was pretty good. The toilet was a bit small though. Haha.
Oh and on that trip (the volleyball one), I spent almost all my money on books. I bought the Twilight Saga (all four books) and some other random books. (fine. They weren't random. They were all Dean Koontz books. Ehehe.) Did you manage to find The Lovely Bones without the movie cover?? =D
Anyway.. I'm glad you're back. Now I can read interesting posts rather than writing my own uninteresting ones. Happy New Year again!
Thanks! Haha, I'll try to update more often since school is pretty busy though it's only the first week.
Unfortunately, I've never been to Borders before, I just heard everyone say it's a really big bookstore. Borders is really cool!! Tons of books!! The one I went to was pretty quiet but Kinokuniya was really noisy. It was completely packed like a supermarket. Kinokuniya has lots of books, if only I had more time...
I really hate Pavilion, there's really nothing to do there. Every single store has killer prices! Even grabbing dinner was hard since everything was really pricey...
I don't really know where is Petaling Street, haha, I just know that Confucian Private Sec School is on a hill surrounded by churches. I think that's the one you went to also. We slept in the classrooms only, I guess there wasn't enough hostel rooms for us... Haha.
One good thing was I actually found The Lovely Bones without the movie cover! The original cover looks wayy better. The book is really good too, it's really interesting to read. But I'm still trying to find The Time Traveler's Wife without the movie cover... Oh, and I saw Her Fearful Symmetry at Times Bookstore KK but it's the large print version and it's quite expensive... Just gotta wait for a while for the smaller version and I can finally buy it, haha.
Haha. School. Everyone is so busy with tuition and everything. Sigh..
Oh ya.. When we stayed in Confucian it was during the holidays so I guess that's why they could accommodate us..
Wooow!! Congrats! =D Haha. Yea so far I've only seen Her Fearful Symmetry in large print.. Hopefully it's good. The cover looks cool. Hehe.
Anyway. I see band is quite busy preparing for sports day. Good luck! =D Put on sunblock!
