30 February

Asian leap day: An extra day to study

Procrastinating Asian leap day: An extra day to procrastinate from studying

Today will cease to exist tomorrow. Fade into nothing. So, everything you do today will be INVALID. YAY, WASTE THE DAY! Tomorrow, it will be like today never happened, because it technically does not exist. Ha ha. Waste waste waste.

Now listen to my story of Penny

Penny likes dogs
I don't like dogs
I have dog phobia

Penny wants a puppy
I told her I am allergic to dog fur
And it causes me to hyperventilate
Which she will have to take me to the hospital
Which she does not want to

Penny suggested getting a hairless dog
I said I would rather not

She said I might not be allergic to it
And stressed that I might be okay with it
But I am not

Penny does not see my point.
DO YOU?

崇正亭

BRAIN BURN!

Maths is so super bombastic, mind-bending
Eg.

Given that the equation of the line is y=2x+1. There are 24 hours in a day. Using the information given, calculate the speed of a projectile projected at 30 degrees from the ground.  Explain Newton's First Law.  If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? From your answer, what is the mass of the sun?

*exaggeration may have been used, or it may have not*

那些年,我们没有做功课
And those days where a hot shower would supposedly help us solve all maths problems.
That was a lie. It doesn't work. Ha ha.

TTSS is the awesome. Or as you should put it now, it was awesome.

Tshung Tsin Pagoda super iconic in memory, not that I spent any time there, but still, iconic. Doodled a picture of it in class using my memory, turned out to look like a wooden shelter overgrown with weeds. Guess I don't have good memory after all.

Vacancy for lawyer

As quoted by Daniel Handler

Eine Trennung ist wie das Lesen Deutsch: viele schwierige Silben füllen dein Gehirn und Mund

That's Chinese, or Japanese, they're so similar I can't tell which is which. Or it might be Korean.

If you think you have to take sides, you don't.

Daniel Handler is awesome. Why We Broke Up Project. The ability to relate to that may vary according to your current situation. The point is I require that book please.

On another note, I also require a lawyer. To press charges.

Not sure how to process current situation.

Sabina, you are right. And it is getting creepier on so many levels.

EVERYONE EDU CRI!

Google you so elaborate

Melt your COLD COLD heart

Enjoy your Valentines 小曾
Insensitivity is instinct, ha ha
And getting someone a guy is a very practical idea
Just not very plausible. Hmm.

On another note,
THAT FEEL,
When you leave the apartment to go and print an important assignment
Walk half a kilometre to some printing centre at night
That feel when you plug the pendrive into the computer at the printing centre
That feel when you realize it is empty
THAT FEEL WHEN YOU FORGOT TO ACTUALLY COPY THE ASSIGNMENT INTO THE PENDRIVE

Life: -50
Mana: -50
Determination: -10
Stupidity: +10
Awkwardness: +5
Urge to make Y U NO GUY face: +100

Now you know, that feel.

And enjoy your Valentines too, to the rest of you who are not forever arone 小曾

Not anymore

And there goes 2011.

Happy New Year everyone!

This is my ultimate dream.

Good thing I live near the beach, there's always fireworks! :D
I can see everyone going out for the countdown, while I was sitting here typing this.
I is the epic fail.
Oh well.

If you believe in the end of the world,
Then there's 355 days left ;)

It's still 2011

Once, there was this motivational speaker who came to my school to, obviously, motivate us. He said that one of the perks of living in a dorm is that you'll have friends to motivate you, so he advised us not to hate it and to think of it as a blessing. His explanation made me stun and facepalm. (Yes, this is in some way related to my post, even if you don't think it is).

So you've got this big test coming up and you have to study hard for it or you'll flunk and get expelled and then can't find a job and become forever alone hobo and die in some alley, alone. Then you would probably tell your housemates about the test and stress on the fact that you're going to start studying an hour later. In that hour, you'll be procrastinating on the internet surfing soul sucking websites like knowyourmeme.com and for some people, facebook. And then you realize that it's been an hour, but it doesn't feel like it and you're too lazy to study for the test and try to convince yourself that you can waste another hour. According to said motivational speaker, this is where your housemates will notice that you're procrastinating and motivate you by saying, hey stupid, why aren't you studying, you got that big test coming, why you so lazy. (Exact words)

The point is, if you need to get something done, peer pressure will MAKE you get it done whether you like it or not. It's peer pressure, duh, one of the biggest pressures ever but not included in physics textbooks. So his advice was to tell people about our goals and we will not escape the wrath of our own words. And getting to the other point, it's New Year's Eve! Which means, New Year Resolutions! And writing them out for people to see will work to help you get them done. Pffft, I hope. (See, told you it relates to my post).

My resolution for 2012: 1360 x 768
1280 x 768 is so 2011

Sadly, I didn't exactly finish my resolutions for 2011, but for a procrastinator, it was good enough that I got at least three of them done, out of ten. Oh. I realize that's not  good thing after all. Which means I should make another better one for 2012.

2012 Resolutions:
1. Breathe more oxygen
2. Retrieve soul from 9gag.com
3. Change my calendars in the house
4. Send random texts to people screaming Happy New Year
5. Have dinner
6. Pack my luggage
7. Get on an airplane
8. Update blog with weird stuff
9. Get on knowyourmeme.com
10. Get off knowyourmeme.com

Well, that's a better list. It's way more manageable than 2011 Resolutions where one of them was to stop procrastinating.

Gee, what a really long post to end a really long year. Haha, well, 2011 deserves a last post, because I don't want to go back and live it all over again so I have to close that chapter! Goodbye hardest year of my life. I will remember and miss you, not quite sure on the missing part though.

Happy New Year's Eve everyone!
It's still Eve by the way, tsk tsk, haha.

Out-With

It the Eve before New Year's Eve
And a winner is this:

BOOK OF THE YEAR: THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PYJAMAS BY JOHN BOYNE

Go read it. Tollay awesome book seen through the eyes of a nine year old. It even censors the bad stuff. But it's really awesome, way better than the movie which was too straightforward of some sort. Halfway through the book everything suddenly becomes clear, so clear I don't know what to feel. Stun. I feel like the nine year old protagonist in the book. Don't google about it or it ruins the stunness. Just go, go and buy that book at Times. Or Popular book fair which I doubt is still going on.

The story of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is very difficult to describe. Usually we give some clues about the book on the cover, but in this case we think that would spoil the reading of the book. We think it is important that you start to read without knowing what it is about.

- Quoted from back cover of the book (Reminds me of Lemony Snicket)

So don't google it. And don't watch the movie.

Oh and I found out what those stuff written at the back cover of books are called. They're blurbs. And that also applies to those stuff written at the back cover of CDs and DVDs. I've been wondering what they're called and Joshua said they're not called synopsis, which is understandable because synopsis is a summary.

The Word of the Day is: Blurb (noun). B-L-U-R-B.  Definition: Not summaries. Plural: Blurbs. Example sentence: What's a blurb?

Merry Holidays

Happy Dong Zhi everyone!

With compliments from Kilang Tang Yuan Joshua Chang :)
Send me some tang yuan. I require.

In conjunction, but not-so-in-conjunction, with Dong Zhi,

Christmas is right around the corner!

So, have yourself a Merry little Christmas :D
Even if you have no Christmas tree, like me.

Awhile back, 26th of August 2010 to be exact, I wrote about a book I was super extremely desipo to get - 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas' after  I watched the movie and it turned out to be really awesome. Then last week, I went to Times bookstore in Suria and I saw the book! Long story short, I am a hobo with no money and wanted to borrow Joshua's Times membership card to get the book. And longer story shorter, Joshua gave me the book for Christmas. So, THANK YOU JOSHUA.  It's an awesome book about the holocaust, yes, the holocaust. Though reviews claim the book is way too fictional and not logical, I DON'T CARE. I owe you your pull-up bar. Haha, got the book after a year of hunting, yay.

p.s. Now I want a travelling pillow because my neck hurts on the plane.

p.p.s I was kidding. I'm gonna get that myself okay.

p.p.p.s Or am I.

Anyway,

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!
Santa Claus did not die for anyone, REMEMBER THAT.

(I will now be partying Christmas away till next week or until I regain conciousness or maybe not)

PARADISE

Woah, December is my least updated month. Now read this rambling post of an awesome movie.

After all these months of waiting, I finally watched Paradise Kiss the Movie! My life is now meaningful, haha. *dramatic metaphor* Lucky that I somehow magically found the DVD in a store, I didn't think they would have it.

And it was awesome! :D

Mind blown. I never thought the movie would be so epicly awesome since it was made from anime series that actually had 12 episodes, which in turn was made from a manga series that has 5 books. Pretty impressive, or maybe I'm just being biased because Paradise Kiss is tollay awesome.

Well, the story pretty much stuck with the original anime series. I wish I read the manga, but I can't find it anywhere, copyrights and licensing prevents me from being a pirate and reading it online. Bsh. The movie's left out all those insecurities and jealousy parts, so it's pretty much just about Yukari being a model for George's team in a fashion show. Then she realizes stuff and more stuff.

Yukari, the main chara, is actually really pretty and her hair is really nice. So is her cellphone, LOL. Weird thing to notice in a movie eh. Haha. And Miwako also has nice hair, but I kinda think she's a little too tall, she's almost as tall as Yukari and she could have been the model in the first place, she's pretty. Everyone in the movie is pretty with exaggeratingly (this is not a legit word) nice hair , except Tokumori, who looks kinda yong soi. Sorry.

Paradise Kiss is tollay a movie of nice hair.

Hair like that just doesn't exist IRL. Nobody shows up to school looking like that.

Falalala

Tis the season to be jolly

And grateful, because there shall not be a season like this one ever again!!1!1! From my point of view, that's a little depressing and because of the lack of kaching in my pockets and bank accounts and secret stashes, I will be spending the next Christmas in perpetual summer at home. Without the strands, who will be having a possibly white Christmas over in the Northern Hemisphere. Oh well.

And also tis the season to get over my computer addiction, which isn't that bad by the way though it does sound a little like it so I should give it the term, computer reliance, excessive. Surprisingly, computer reliance increases during the exam season and almost caused me to flunk and also completely flunk, every single time. My laptop somewhat broke down and it'll take three weeks to get fixed, RAGEEE! Sabina, tak boleh skype.

There was this weird syndicate that kept texting me saying hi kawan, saya Linda and blah blah blah. Well, 'Linda', I am not your kawan and I don't want to text ON FELA to 66336 or 63663 or 66366 and etc. Haha. I wonder how do they send all those out?!

What happened in December anyway? Why's everyone writing songs about December, pfft. The next December song is gonna be about my report card and how it matches the decorations on Christmas trees with all the red stuff.

3/201

First floor, the door on your left. Come back in another month or so :)

4 months and semester one flew by.

Well, semester one passed by pretty quickly. Dowerin was a nice class, never boring. I didn't think I would miss that class this much. Too bad we have to change classes next year or it would be really awesome. Funny how I spent most of my time wishing to go home. Repeating process.

But on the bright side, exams are over, yay. Had to go through extreme stress studying for the exams and lack of sleep for 3 nights straight. Mentally imagining rainbows and prancing unicorns in my head, wishing I was somewhere across the sea. Then talked with my neighbour and roommate till 3am after the exams were over, watching movies at my place, haha. Extreme destress!

Hmmm, next up, semester two. I guess the year's almost over eh.

When you see it.

This is the BKI

'Welcome to Kota Kinabalu International Airport'
Won't be hearing that for quite some time :D

Protip #1: Never carry luggage more than half your own weight when you have to use public transportation

I think the staff at the airport might be laughing at the fact that I'm checking my pillow in as my luggage, but desperate times call for desperate measures (read as: desipo times call for desipo measures).  At least, my friend thought it was funny, haha. And I never realized a pillow could weigh 2kgs. Overweight baggage, RAGEEEE. Then, there was this awkward random guy who started to rummage through my stuff, all the while I was just sitting next to my stuff. I glanced across and saw him rummage through my paper bag thing. Stun face. Speechlessness extremely overwhelming. WHY?! Good thing he didn't take my stuff. But still, I stun till so stun I cannot stun anymore than I already am. S.T.U.N.

Protip #2: Don't book the last flight of the day

Unless you enjoy delays and getting stuck at the airport with a laptop which you forgot to charge, or maybe that's just me. Hmm. Maybe it's just my luck or something, had two flights that were delayed. Forever delay.

p.s. Prayers extended to Crystal and Joshua who will be taking their extreme maths exam in a few hours. Extreme prayers required for extreme occassions!

We together chase that girl

You Are the Apple of My Eye

Somehow, everyone is going crazy over some Taiwanese movie 'You Are the Apple of My Eye', and by everyone, I don't mean everyone. But still, it's like a huge hit or something and lots of people are anticipating it, because in KK, we experience lagging although the movie's already released everywhere.

I don't really know what's the movie about, read about it in someone's blog post, which I forgot who. Apparently, it's based on a novel. Too bad I don't read chinese novels. It's about this girl and this bunch of guys and high school and chasing girls and stuff. Google it, or not, it's just a suggestion, not an order.

Reminds me of komunis, minus the girl chasing part. Gees, everything reminds me of J3 Zhong. Oxygen reminds me of J3 Zhong! We used to breathe oxygen together! Oh those days! For once, I kinda want to watch that movie. It sorta reminds me of 500 days of Summer, which was a very misleading movie.

I rarely watch Chinese movies in the cinema, last one I watched was A Chinese Ghost Story, hahaha. Which wasn't actually a real ghost story, just pretty Sunsilk shampoo model girls flying around waving their hands around. And a pretty ghost with extremely nice hair that's desipo for candy. Pedobear alert, tsk tsk tsk. And then that scene where the moon turned green! Dark hour much! The shadows are out to get you. That was funny. There were random characters suddenly showing up halfway through the movie  and having no significant role except for saying: Stop! You can't go, it's too dangerous! But whoever listens to that line anyway eh.

That awkward moment. It's so awkward when someone sees me typing and asks me what I'm doing. It would be awkward to say that I'm typing my blog and then it would be awkward for them to say you have a blog? Then it would be even more awkward for them to tell me to show it to them and proceed to read it in my presence. That feel.

崇正一家亲

Old quote from Sabina:
不留高三也许是我最大的遗憾

崇正是个大家庭
董教员生一家亲

I haven't written anything in Chinese for ages. I believe my primary school standard Chinese has finally dropped to kindergarten level. Fyi, I didn't know Chinese back in my kindergarten years. Haha. I couldn't even write my own name back then. Fail.

Somehow, I just (suddenly) wanted to stay for senior three. Just a feeling, haha. It seems really awesome to stay in TTSS for another year. Now that UEC is over, everyone is busy with graduation and farewell parties and class trips and all those stuff I missed out on. Aww. If I stayed for senior three, I would be partying right now instead of taking exams and suffer from insomnia. When I just got into TTSS in junior one, I thought: Would six years in this school be enough? Apparently it's not enough. And I actually only spent five year in TTSS. But still, 发生什么事情zin he很难讲. Thank you Microsoft pinyin! How would I ever type Chinese words without you.

So, I am dwelling on the past and lingering forever. Then I remembered, most of YOU PEOPLE aren't in senior three. Nobody to go with to the canteen and buy squishy kuih thing and tons of watermelon. Nobody to sienzz orhx with in class and use the concept of momentum to make fun of a certain someone, tsk tsk. TTSS still not the same anymore without social links and Sabina and Jobro (a.k.a Face Chang) and Crystal. I thought of forever alone in class, now I'm better! Senior three not so awesome anymore, haha. 那几个人没有留都没有意思。初三忠太爽了。

Aww man, I miss TTSS and all my friends back there too much, 太想念崇正了。 Haven't had much sleep in days. Bsh, exams getting to my head.

Haha, studying Chinese used to be so funny. Always used those same cliché and kiddie idioms like 人山人海 in essays although I had to memorize tons of hard idioms. Brain is now completely void of all those stuff I learnt back in TTSS. It was funny reciting those 文言文 and 名句 before Chinese class. I forgot everything already, super efficient! Thank you Joshua who questioned my exam marks, because my essay looked like it was written by a ten year old. I question my marks too. Haha.

轻轻的我走了,就如我轻轻的来
我轻轻的招手,不带走一片云彩

Haha. I remember that idiom though. Which is also a song.

Awsmness.

Unrealistic expectations

SELF, Y U NO MOTIVATION TO BE GOOD STUDENT?!

Yes I have 99 problems and my final exam is one of them, including my procrastination habit which my previous English lecturer told me to "work on it". Bsh, GO STUDY ALREADY.

Turbulence

Do you find yourself getting carsick, seasick, airsick, walksick, cinematic-camera-movement-sick or any other form of motion sickness??

Do you want to stop puking as a result of said motion sickness every single time??

WELL DO YA???

Unfortunately, I'm not a doctor and I can't help you. Even if I were a doctor, I can't help you via online means anyway.

Sadly, I get motion sickness from almost everything, including cinematic-camera-flying moments in movies, pffft, I lied about that last part. Ha. But I do get sick from AIRPLANE TURBULENCE. KL has been raining a lot and on the way to the airport I was praying for it to not rain. As much I like the rain, I prefer to fly in clear weather conditions or there will be horrible turbulence. Then the flight will turn into a roller coaster ride, which I also prefer not to be on.

Then it started raining. Then my flight was delayed. Boarding time was supposed to be 8.45pm but I was still sitting in the waiting area at 9.20pm. Flight was supposed to leave at 9.25pm, which gave me the thought are the airline staff really thinking we could finish boarding in 5 minutes. Note, I was not in KLIA. Turns out flight was delayed. I was sleepy, demanding mentally to go home because I could just fall asleep there.

Then the flight was extremely turbulent. Extreme turbulence. So turbulent we were told not to go to the toilet. That sounds awkward but it happened.

The plane barely had any legroom. Obviously everyone's not a supermodel with super slim, long legs and doesn't require legroom. But oh well. I guess I'm not the only one with unrealistic expectations.

Found on SNOTM.com, you are absolutely right
